The Nuclear Society of Kenya (NSK) is a non-profit professional organization registered in accordance with the Societies Act of Kenya and is dedicated to advancing the peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology for socio-economic development in Kenya.

Founded in 2024, NSK is the first of such organizations in the region and serves as a platform for professionals, researchers, students, and the public to engage in dialogue, share knowledge, and collaborate on nuclear-related issues.

NSK’s mission is to promote the safe, secure, and sustainable utilization of nuclear energy for socio-economic development in Kenya. This is done by:

  • Fostering a vibrant nuclear community through networking and knowledge exchange both locally and internationally.
  • Advocating for evidence-based policies and regulations in the local and international nuclear sector.
  • Enhancing public understanding and awareness of nuclear science and technology.
  • Supporting education and training in nuclear-related fields.
  • Collaborating with both national and international organizations to promote nuclear cooperation.

NSK organizes conferences, workshops, and seminars to address current challenges and opportunities in the nuclear industry. The organization also plans to publish technical papers, newsletters, and other materials to disseminate information and research findings.
