Elizabeth Itotia

Dr. Elizabeth Wangari Itotia is a Radio pharmacist/Nuclear Pharmacist currently working at Kenyatta University, Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital. She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from University of Nairobi where she graduated as valedictorian.

She also holds a Master of Pharmacy (Radio Pharmacy) degree from Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, in Pretoria, South Africa.  She is a member of Women in Nuclear Kenya, Nuclear Society of Kenya and The Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya.

Dr. Itotia has keen interest in development of quality framework for nuclear medicine in Kenya as well as health policy. Her current immediate goal is to see the introduction of radio-pharmaceuticals for cancer treatment in the country. She currently works as the Head of Radio pharmacy Department at Kenyatta University, Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital where she has so far overseen the production of over 15,000 radio-pharmaceutical patient doses.

She prides herself in being the First Kenyan Woman to graduate with a Radio pharmacy Master’s degree and having received various recognitions and awards including Top 40 under 40 2021 by Business Daily, The University of Nairobi Alumni award as well as recognition by The Kenya Healthcare Federation and Nation Newspaper for being the First in her field.
